Next Week: Mi Notebook Pro i7 8550U 16GB & Colorful Nvidia 1080 TI Review

Next Week: Mi Notebook Pro i7 8550U 16GB & Colorful Nvidia 1080 TI Review

I have the most powerful version of the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro on the way, the 8th gen Intel Core i7 8550U model with 16GB of RAM.  It should be here next week, so look for some videos on how to undervolt and tweak this model like I did with the i5 8550U model next week. Some benchmarks and further tests plus I’ll also revisit some of those games I tested and see how they run on this i7 model. Also, see if the 16GB of RAM and a 4.0Ghz max turbo of the i7 model is going to make much of a difference or not. I’m not sure it will as the GPU is really the bottle when it comes to gaming. But I will see how much faster it is at 4k video editing and encoding which is what I want it for.

I got this i7 model for about the same price I paid for the i5 one. $1059 at Geekbuying with this coupon 16GBMINTPRO Not a bad deal considering everywhere else it’s selling for around 1300 to 1400 USD. If you missed my review on this laptop it’s here, but it’s an impressive build, new keyboard design and overall a big step up from the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13.3 model.

I also have my first GPU review loan unit coming and hopefully not my last. Colorful’s Nvidia 1080 TI one of the fastest GPU’s currently out. I’ll be putting it through its paces testing out how well it can handle 4k gaming and ultra settings.

Next week I might also have the Teclast P10 tablet and I just reviewed the Alldocube Freer X9.

Chinese tablet news, hands on videos and reviews of the latest Chinese tablets. I don’t review or cover just anything, only tablets I think are good enough and worth the attention.

  1. Hi Chris, if the teclast T8 is as good as the T10, do you think it will be better than the cube X9 you just reviewed? Looking for an 8″ tablet for my wife and noticed gearbest have the ifive mini 4s for around £70 which at that price is a great buy.

  2. Hi Chris! Did you have any problem with the Windows license?

There is people complaining out there that the Windows license is only valid for Chinnese language, but not English.

    Is that true?

  3. Am i right and Teckast P10 is more simple than T10 is?

    • Yes, it’s more of a basic entry-level tablet. No fully laminated screen, for example, lower build quality etc.

  4. Are you going to review the Teclast T8? That one looks good.

    • I have one on the way, hopefully, it will arrive next week. I expect it to be as good as the master T10.
