Teclast TBook 16 Pro 2-in1 11.6″ Dual OS tablet

Teclast TBook 16 Pro 2-in1 11.6″ Dual OS tablet

Teclast’s latest 2-in-1 the TBook 16 Pro is due for release this week in China. Another on the Tbook tablets, which unfortunately still runs the same Atom X5 Z8300. While not a bad Atom CPU, it’s a shame we aren’t seeing more of the faster X5 Z8500 or X5 Z8700 chips. This was the tablet Teclast teased 2 weeks or so ago.

The design looks very slim and it’s got a 1080p 11.6″ screen, so room for a good sized keyboard and hopefully typing experience. While the tablet itself has no full sized USB ports, the dock at least does have two full sized USB 2.0 ports.

The rest of the spec is pretty standard.

  • Atom X5 Z8300
  • 4GB DDR RAM
  • 64GB eMMC
  • Android 5.1 / Windows 10 Home
  • Wireless N / BT 4.0
  • Micro USB 2.0 and USB 3.0
  • 11.6″ 1080p screen
  • 2MP front web camera
  • Transformer style dock with 2 x USB 2.0 ports.
  • Micro HDMI
  • MicroSD card
  • Active stylus (looks like a very basic one)

The price? Gearbest has it listed for $199 on flash sale.

  1. The wi-fi connection on Teclast Tbook 16 Pro 2in1Tablet/Keyboard is abysmal. It has a limited range (distance to the router) to connect, takes forever to connect and when it does it’s often drops the connection after that. Speedtests for uploading and downloading on the internet were 25mbs for an Acer laptop and an Apple desktop, 12mbs for the Cube i9 2 in 1 Tablet/Keyboard from GearBest, and less than 1mbs for this Teclast TBook Pro 2-in-1. I so badly wanted to like this unit for it’s appearance, size, price and convenience. Tablets are used primarily to browse the internet or watch movies and you cannot do either with the Teclast Tbook 16 Pro. Technical support to improve it from GearBest has not been productive to date. It’s a dust collector and past the ability to return it as it was held for a Christmas present.

  2. The TBook 16 and the TBook 16S seem to be different configurations. The 16S has a kickstand and a typecover style keyboard (not included).

It shows as being on pre-sale at GearBest while the model on sale is the 16 (without the S).

If the different style of keyboards are compatible across the models, that would give purchasers the option to pick the type they prefer. From the GearBest listing, it shows that it has a full size USB port, but it lists it as USB 2.0.
