Teclast has released a bios update for the X98 Plus Dual OS model (A5C8), this update addresses connection issues with UHS large MicroSD cards 128GB and 200GB ones. I’ve just flashed my X98 Plus A5C8 and it all went without a hitch. Loading up CPU-Z in Windows I see the RAM speed is now set to 1600Mhz? At least according to CPU-Z it is. Before it was 1066Mhz affecting performance somewhat. N...[Read More]

Update: 10th The prices on both units have dropped, more competitive now with the likes of the Cube iwork10 and Hi10. It also looks as if the TBook16 is using the same screen and housing as the Teclast X2 Pro? I noticed today that GearBest.com have already listed the newly announced Teclast 2 in 1 Atom tablets. The TBook 16 is listed for $237.98 and the smaller Tbook 11 is $176. The prices donR...[Read More]
My X98 Plus Dual OS arrived (Sorry a bit late, snail mail and no DHL this time) and I went through the usual benchmarks I like to test and some popular games like Mortal Kombat X which really pushes the GPU to the max. As you’ll see in the video review here, the ROM is still geared towards China, but that’s not a huge issue. Luckily most of the Chinese bloat (95%) can be removed by jus...[Read More]
I’ve updated the Mi Pad 2 Review to now include the Windows 10 model and benchmarks. The score hasn’t changed, despite its flaws, no MicroSD, USB 3 or HDMI* support. It’s easily the best (and most expensive) mini tablet out of China. The build is A-Class, the screen is fully laminated, super responsive and the cameras and sound are on of the best after my Surface Pro 4. Battery l...[Read More]
Scott in our Cube i9 Forum has just received his Cube i9. If you’re not aware of this model, it’s Cube’s successor to the popular Cube i7 Stylus (The first Chinese brand Core M tablet). The i9 is powered by the new Intel Skylake Core M3 6Y30, which is a rather nice step up in terms of power compared to the previous Core M 5Y10. I’ve sampled the Core M3-6Y30 in a Surface Pro...[Read More]
Another mini PC, but another one that I find more interesting as it’s not just another Atom Z8300. It’s powered by and older Haswell Celeron G1840. It has a TDP of 54W so a good 10 times that of an Atoms TDP, can clock up to 2.8Ghz and it’s socket 1150. Originally I saw this as a plain barebones mini PC. It would seem now Onda has had to bundle it with a 120GB mSata SSD (With Win...[Read More]
Teclast’s newest batch of tablets the Tbook series moves away from 4:3 retina screens and focuses more on 2 in 1 tablets with keyboards following Intel’s push for more 2 in 1 units. The Tbook 16S, is the top 2 in 1 it seems with a build that looks to copy the Surface 3 as seen here in this image. It’s got a full metal housing and a kickstand that is super similar to the Surface 3...[Read More]
Edit: Seems it was a flash sale we caught before it went live. Also, Banggood.com have countered this price lowering their listing to $309 with coupon 0fcd6f Hopefully these retailers will keep the price war going and it will lower even further. If you find a better deal, please let us know in the comments. Another deal has been spotted thanks to Grandalf in the forums. Something is going on with ...[Read More]
I’ve had the Cube iwork10 Ultimate for a few days now, if you missed these videos on the YouTube channel (Might pay to Subscribe?) here they are are below. Overall I’m impressed with Cube’s build on this tablet concidering the price and the keyboard is really nice. The finish of it is very premium with the use of metal and a nice rubberized paint job on the bottom plastics is a n...[Read More]
Chuwi sent me these pictures of a new tablet in the works. No word on the spec, it looks super similar to the Chuwi Hi10 Air, which makes me wonder if this is the Air and it was renamed? I can see the type-c port, sim card slot and the left and right speakers. Still no reply from them about the rather major Hi8 Pro power issues which is rather annoying. And means I cannot complete my review of it....[Read More]
