Thermal Repaste & Overclocking The Nvidia 940M In The D-Book Pro

The Daysky D-Book Pro is an interesting $350 combination of dedicated Nvidia 940M 2GB GPU and the ever so common Celeron N3450. The CPU is far too weak for any real serious gaming as it bottlenecks almost all of the new and demanding titles, so I set out here in this video to see if it’s possible to improve both thermals and GPU performance. And If you caught my review of the DaySky D-Book P...[Read More]

Chuwi Hi9 Air – 10.1″ With Helio X20 & 4G Dual SIM

The Chuwi Hi9 Air went back to the drawing board it seems, I always thought it was going to be 8.4″ tablet like the Hi9. But now it’s 10.1 inches still the same 2560 x 1600 resolution, so 16:10 aspect ratio and yes it’s fully laminated. Since it’s now 10.1-inches shouldn’t it be called the Chuwi Hi10 Air? The interesting part is the chipset is a MediaTek Helio X20, de...[Read More]

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro Vs Mi Notebook Air 13 2018 Comparison

Since I now have both of the Mi Notebook’s with the same configuration, Core i5 8250U’s, 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD’s. Here is a hands-on comparison of both of them. This video comparison covers all the key differences between the two models. And It’s not as straightforward as you might think but they also have some big differences in performance, battery life, screens and ev...[Read More]

Teclast F7 Vs Jumper EZBook 3L Pro Comparison

Recently I just got hold of my EZBook 3L Pro, the 14″ version of the Jumper EZBook 3 Pro and a laptop that is almost identical to the Tecalst F7 I reviewed. This one comes from the same ODM, there are only minor differences which I’ll outline below and one big difference depending on how lucky or unlucky you are. After all the reports from various users that Jumper switched to using an...[Read More]

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro Bios 0401 SSD Fix & Unlocked XTU Settings

I took a risk with this one, ordered this unit 3 weeks ago and struck it lucky, this is one of the newer models of the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro and it comes with bios 0401. Why is this important? Well if you caught my review of the Mi Notebook Pro the SSD slot was only running at x2 speed on both SSD slots, so it never let the Samsung PM961 256GB NVMe run at full x4 speed. Limiting reads to around 1...[Read More]

Hands-On With The T-Bao Tbook X8S Pro – Apollo Lake + 920M Laptop

This is the second T-Bao laptop I’ve looked out, thanks to a few forum goers that point this one out I decided to buy this one from Geekbuying.com. However I kinda wish I didn’t, on paper, it seems okay, maybe good for some light gaming. But that dedicated Nvidia 920M with 2GB of DDR3 isn’t nearly as fast I thought it would be. Sure the CPU is very weak for a gaming laptop, the A...[Read More]

Jumper EZBook 3L Pro, The Best Teclast F7 Alternative

Update: I just got my EZBook 3L Pro, I can confirm it has no power limit settings in the bios and a factory set 6W limit. And I was unlucky, my unit has a TN Panel! Not matte IPS, but Matte TN, panel ID MS_0003. So it’s down to luck if you get the matte IPS panel from BOU. Software power limit unlock or setting 10W works fine. Thermals are good and the rest is exactly the same as the Teclast...[Read More]

Teclast F7 Review Rating Now Online

My review of the Teclasf F7 has been online for a few days now on YouTube (See it below) and I’ve just finished adding the rating and some more details to the site. It’s only taken about a year, but finally, after all the units I’ve tested we have the best one here from Teclast. The shell and design aren’t new, shared with the EZbook 3L Pro and Tbook4 I reviewed However the...[Read More]

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13 2018 Review Online

The Mi Notebook Air 13.3″ model got a refresh and it’s the second one. I was half expecting a completely new redesign, something like the Dell XPS. But this new 2018 revision sees it more or less becoming a smaller lighter version of the Mi Notebook Pro as it shares the same 8th Gen Intel i5 8250U or i7 8550U CPU’s. And the same paint job. The touchpad and keyboard also got a min...[Read More]

Jumper EZBook Yoga – 11.6″ Gemini Lake Convertible

So the first Gemini Lake powered laptops and convertibles are now appearing. This one looks to be the first from Jumper, and as I suspected it’s only got 4GB of DDR4 RAM due to the fact DDR4 is much more expensive. The new Celeron N4100 will be the SoC replacing the Celeron N3450, it supports 2400Mhz DDR4, has double the cache at 4Mb Vs 2Mb, supports HDMI 2.0 spec, 4 lanes Vs 3. And clocked ...[Read More]

Alfawise Tab Review Now Online

The Alfawise Tab review is now online. This is basically the same exact tablet as the JDTab J01 I reviewed last year, but it’s got stock Android 6.0 and it’s around half the price. Turned out to be a great tablet for the price, great build quality and overall a premium 4:3 ratio screen tablet for the price. The review with a rating out of 10 and Pros & Cons is here: Alfawise Tab Re...[Read More]

Teclast F7 After 48 Hours Review. Questions Answered

Now I’ve been using the Tecalst F7 for over 2 days, this gives me a chance to answer some of those questions asked here on the site and Youtube many of you have been firing my way. The most common ones are thermals, the screen, and battery life. It’s currently $229 with this email offer link if it still works. Firstly I’ll start with the battery life as I feel this was the one th...[Read More]
