An update on Teclast’s Weibo today confirmed the beefed up Atom X7 Z8700 + 8GB LPDDR3 Ram model (Same Atom X7 CPU as the Surface 3) will be officially called the Teclast X16 Power. And it suits as it’s basically just a spec’ed up X16 Pro sharing the same screen and housing, as well as a keyboard dock that looks to be the same high-quality keyboard the 11.6″ X2 Pro Core M us...[Read More]
Mirek190 recently released V6 of his X98 Air 3G Rom. This latest build fixes some minor bugs and has some tweaks (see the changelog below) I recommend this Rom to Air 3G/Air II users due to the fact it’s tweaked for performance, battery savings and its light weight. Not full of bloat and Apex launcher replaces the Teclast’s laggy stock launcher. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0-Qymh...[Read More]
Some of Teclast X98 Pro’s have been affected by a bios bug resulting in missing eMMC drivers and booting into the bios instead of loading an OS. Teclast has issued a new bios update that should fix the issue. *** WARNING: ONLY FLASH THIS IF YOU HAVE THE MISSING EMMC ISSUE! *** Thanks to Echo from OKQI for this latest bios update. Instructions are included in the file with images. To flash i...[Read More]
Update 29th: The tablet is officially called the Teclast X16 Power. Update: 28th Oct. Teclast posted on their Weibo it will be dual boot Android 5.1 and Windows 10. This tablet is clearly just a more powerful X16 Pro. Today Teclast posted five new pictures of their new Atom X7 Z8700 tablet with 8GB of Ram. Yes 8GB, that’s more than the Surface 3 Atom model that has 4GB. The tablet is still ...[Read More]
From Teclast’s Weibo today. They are working on a new 11.6″ 1920 x 1080 Atom X7 Z8700 tablet, with 8GB of dual channel Ram and active stylus support. No further details. But I can see it looks similar to the Teclast X16 Pro in terms of styling and it does have a keyboard dock, maybe the same keyboard as the X2 Pro I reviewed? They will be the first Chinese tablet manufacturer to releas...[Read More]
Teclast has announced, their 4th new Atom Cherry Trail tablet this month. The X16 Pro and it’s aimed directly at the Chuwi Hi10 I think. Remember the X16HD I reviewed? Maybe not, well this is the updated version with the new X5 Z8500 and a standard (full sized?) USB 3.0 port. It’s doing to be a dual boot system with Windows 10/Android 5, with 4GB of ram, 64GB eMMC and active stylus sup...[Read More]
The latest 9.7″ tablet from Teclast the X98 Plus, is now listed on Taoboa/Tmall.com with 4GB of Ram, 64GB eMMC and an Atom X5 Z8300 with a boost of 1.84Ghz. Other specs are the same as the X98 Air series, MicroSD card slot, Wireless A/G/N and BT 4.0, the battery is the same too, 8000mAH. Good for 4, maybe 5 hours on the Z8300? The price, 999 yuan (special starting price) Which is around $160...[Read More]
Teclast has announced on Weibo yet another 9.7″ Retina tablet. It features the slightly slower X5 Z8300 Cherry Trail than the X98 Pro. No other specs were confirmed, OS or price but it does have the new Teclast Air III unibody casing. My rough guess is it will cost around $170-$180 USD, if the X98 Pro is now $219 it’s got to be much less. I assume it will have 2GB of RAM and a 32GB/64G...[Read More]
Teclast have updated their X80 line, and plan to release the X80 Plus and X80 Pro version. Both models are a successor to the Teclast X80h and both will be powered with the Atom X5 Z8300, 2GB of Ram and a 32GB eMMC. The difference between the Pro and Plus is the screen, much like the Chuwi Vi8 and Hi8. The plus has an 1280 x 800 IPS panel and the pro an 1920 x 1200 panel. Which I assume will be th...[Read More]
If you haven’t seen it already my Teclast X2 Pro Core M review is now online. For those looking for a larger Cube i7 Stylus might want to give this one a look. A very decent tablet, just with the normal bad points these cheaper tablets have, for example, it lacks a fully laminated display, has one keyboard stand position only. But the keyboard is great and its performance is top notch. Have ...[Read More]
Banggood now have stock of the dual OS Teclast X98 Pro Cherry Trail 4GB retina tablet. My order with GB still didn’t ship after almost 3 weeks so I canceled it and ordered from Banggood.com here yesterday and it has shipped today. That’s a quick turnaround, if only all sellers were like this. So I’ll have the factory K9C6 Dual OS model in a week or so to review and not my current...[Read More]
