News from various sellers on Aliexpress in contact with Teclast, told me that the international English version which will support multi-languages will be ready on the 20th. It will no doubt ship out to buyers the following week.
So if you have pre-ordered, your tablet won’t ship out just yet. But from the 20th to 24th.
The X98 Pro is now out in China, shipping via Tmall.com. But this is the domestic Windows 10 Pro (Single language ) which supports only Chinese.
Mine has already shipped which I bought from Aliexpress, I told the seller to send it anyway after he reported it is only in Chinese and will not accept language packs. I will just have to do a fresh Win 10 install after backing up the drivers. I hope to have it early next week for review and videos for the site. I will definitely compare it to my X98 Air 3G

Check my Surface 3 review. You’ll see it’s not bad, the increase is really only on the GPU side of things.
Really looking forward this review. If teclast (& onda) is keeping up with good value products, I can see myself buying each iteration of their flagship tablets year after year

Oh not yet sorry or Facebook for the site. It’s planned. If you want the lastest on it stick to the site and the youtube channel is where I will post video gaming tests, benchmarks, the unboxing and impressions etc

As I know, Teclast placed a team working in Spain for EU. They are working several weeks ago and will start on Sept, 2015. They are managing only international versions.

Hi,
a bit off-topic: I’m waiting for a 16:10 or 16:9 screen ratio hi-res Win 10 or dual-boot tablet with cherry trail. Is there any word on a Teclast X10HD or X16HD cherry trail successor? Has anything like it been announced already?
Thanks
William
Hi there, it appears there is a X2 Pro coming out for 2300yuan. Its 16:9ish and has a core m processor with full sized usb ports!!! Will be interesting ti see what its like when it becomes available to buy.

Thanks! So it’s a lower-res and slightly smaller X1 Pro, something like Cube i7 Stylus. I’m hoping for something smaller, 10 inch-ish, and cheaper with cherry trail. Like a cherry trail successor to Teclast X10HD i.e. a 16:10 version of X98 Pro.

Looks great with two full-sized USB 3.0 ports. I wonder where this next core M machine got to, they didn’t announce it. Thanks. I just hope it’s not over $400.

Do you have a twitter account Chris ? In times like this it would be nice for us to have bits of live impressions when you get the tablet (And other products) until The review is out.

Please do get a Twitter and Facebook account soon! 🙂 I spent a while trying to search it down with no luck (I can see why, they don’t exist!), so I can follow the news via that method as well.
Chris G
I’ll try to soon, just it has been at the bottom of my list.

WordPress (which I notice is the CMS you run your site on, GREAT!) can be easily configured so that whenever you blog a new post your Twitter and Facebook account will be automatically updated with that.
A great option so you can take a more low key approach to social media when you wish, and just step in to more active in responding when you feel like it.

Don’t forget you are doubling the RAM as well and also running a more efficent 64 bit OS

Hi Chris,
How do you backup the driver for chinese windows version of teclast tablet?
Planning to get the x98 pro – chinese version as well, but plan to clean install for the english one.
Thank you.
Chris G
I’ll have it on Wednesday and will make a backup then and update it. Then I will have to do a fresh Windows 10 install to get English.
Wymmar Santoso
hi chris, i will have my chinese edition tablet too in next week, my friend who travel in chinese buy it to me
if the tablet already in your hand, can you show me step by step how to backup, update and install the fresh win 10 so the language is in english?
thanks anyway, really love this website
Chris G
Sure I will have the drivers updated soon and post a guide if I have time. Make an install USB stick, under the Windows 10 Chinese version run the Windows install. Once done, restore them with double driver and move the touchsetting.gt file to windows/inf and reboot. Done.

You will have your X98 Pro on Wednesday ?
I am soooooo jealous !!!
I assume you will post a review shortly ?

I’m little afraid about power consumption, as we all know the boost in performance usually means drains in power. But waiting for first review 🙂
jacknathan89
The boost in performance is rather moderate really.
Improvement more on the gpu side then the cpu side of things right.
Power consumption would be rather similar to bay trail, based on the surface 3 🙂

Check my Surface 3 review. You’ll see it’s not bad, the increase is really only on the GPU side of things. Battery life should be a little better than the Surface 3 I hope due to a slower CPU clock and a bigger battery.

Waitin’ impatiently for the review and dualboot 😀

Hi Chris,
While reading recent comments on Tmall, most users said it is rather hot at the back of the tablet, would you please take some measurements during the review?
Thanks a lot
Chris G
I will do, after so heavy use.
Craig
No Ann, that’s for Windows 10 mobile.

Really looking forward this review. If teclast (& onda) is keeping up with good value products, I can see myself buying each iteration of their flagship tablets year after year. (iPad formfactor is just so convenient). Man, when i think of the future usb-C and bigger ram products that will be coming sooner or later… Good times.
Chris G
Be nice if it did have USB 3 type c, that would make it almost perfect. Maybe next years model.
