Thanks to Diego. It is the Tbook 16 Pro, a 2-in-1 tablet with a metal keyboard dock. No word on the specs, hopefully since it’s labeled as a Pro version, it will at least have an Atom X5 Z8500. Images of the Tbook Pro.
Finally, Weibo is loading properly and working for people outside of China. Not much is new from the Chinese tablet brands, mostly they are just pushing sales on Tmall of their current models. However, Teclast has teased a new up and coming tablet.
Only this teaser imagine has been shown (above). It shows a full metal housing, power and volume buttons in a thin design. My guess another 2-in-1, maybe a TBook 16 Pro version or similar? I just hope it’s not another Atom X5 Z8300. Hopefully, an Atom X7 or Core M3 with a full metal OGS 3:2 Surface Pro 3 2160 x 1440 display and wireless AC? Highly doubtful, still I hope Teclast surprise us with something new at least. I’ll post again when I know something new on this.
What do you think it is?

Please review this one, it looks like an Ultrabook almost and full metal body. I think it will have an atom x7.
Chris G
I will if it’s interesting and not just another Z8300.
Marius B
Hey Chris, have you ever thought of reviewing any Chinese VR headset like Dhl deepoon e2 or looking at some of the 360 degree camera’s ?
Chris G
Yes thought about looking at VR and also action 4k cameras or even drones. But at this point I’m busy enough with tablets, mobiles, mini pcs and now the odd ultrabook review. If tablet releases slow down then I will look into it for sure.

This looks like a 16:10 or 16:9 screen, it certainly does not look like 3:2, unfortunately.
Chris G
Yes, in the shot where it’s in the keyboard (and looks like a ultrabook) that looks almost like 3:2, or 16:10. But in the other shot with the keyboard undocked it looks like a 16:9 panel. Maybe the same 11.6″ 16:9 1920 x 1080 screen?
Chris G
16:9 is good only for the extra keyboard width you get and movies. But I would prefer 3:2, that to me is the best aspect ratio after using my Surface Pro’s and the Surface 3.
Blackburn
1920 x 1080p 11.6″ screen like the X16 Pro and X16 Power. I’m 90% sure this is what it will be.

this is it. https://www.facebook.com/teclast1999/posts/1739048519691123

Thanks, seems the Chinese users don’t have access to the FB page or know of it. And I forgot they had a FB page! Tbook 16 Pro it is!

Why do you think that the Chinese companies have ignored the 6watt TDP Intel Braswell processors – the quad-core Celeron N3150/N3160 and Pentium N3700/N3710? These processors are the equal or better performers than the Atom Cherry-Trails. They can and are used in fanless designs. They are being used by mainstream notebook, chromebook, and 2-in-1 brands.
BBaker
basically they sit between the Atoms and Core-M’s in performance.
Chris G
Must be cost? Or they got a good deal from Intel on bulk Z8300’s.
BBaker
Yeah, I was thinking the same. The part cost for X5 processors is REALLY low, esp in bulk. So, the big producers can prob get decent bulk pricing for the Braswell CPU’s that these lower volume Chinese companies cannot get, for now. It’s too bad because the Braswell’s, like the Core-M’s, seem to work much better out-of-the-box with other OS’s like Linux and Remix.
BBaker
It also could be that they did not see any advantage to using the Braswells that have marginally better performance than the X5’s but a bit less battery performance, while the Core-M’s perform appreciably better. Maybe the Braswell prices will drop when the new Apollo Lake Celeron and Pentiums come out.
Btw, what the heck happened to AMD? They have given up competing in the mobile market?
ScutMonkey
Right now they aren’t competing in any market except Video Cards. Their next generation CPU/APUs are supposed to be out in January 2017, but even that is a best guess by the industry. AMD looks like a mess from the outside looking in.

You’ll be waiting a long time for a tab with those specs as unfortunately most of the chinese tablets are similarly specced. I got the cube i9 in the end even though it wasn’t what I really wanted as if I had waited I’d never buy one!
Blackburn
Dude not even Dell, Acer, HP or ASUS could offer than, you’ll be waiting a lifetime!!
