Onda oBook10 Pro – Atom X7 Z8700 Dual Boot 2 in 1.

Onda today has announced the oBook10 Pro, a 10.1 inch two in one similar to the Chuwi HiBook or Cube iwork10 Ultimate. But unlike the oBook10, this new oBook10 Pro comes with an Atom X7 Z8700, 4GB of DDR3 dual chanel RAM and an upgraded screen of 1920 x 1200. It’s only the second tablet from China to be powered by the X7 , the first was the Teclast X16 Power.

Hopefully it’s priced under $280 and not closing it on the Core M Cube i7 Stylus price like the Teclast X16 Power, otherwise I don’t see the point of it. The oBook10 Pro is a dual OS tablet.

Interesting to note, still no sign of the Atom Cherry Trail X5/X7 Z8X50 refresh that is meant to be in production now according to Intel. Manufacturers must still have plenty of Z8X00 stock.

  1. Save your money. Onda’s are a piece of junk. I just bought a dual operating system and it barely boots up and when it does, it doesn’t hold a wifi signal. You might as well use a string and a cup to contact someone, that is how useless this tablet is.
If you get a whim and decide to try your luck, buy a tablet from a reputable, US company, not some company like Gearbest.

    • Well I’ve had 2 and they’ve been the biggest piles of crap imaginable. Can’t believe they’re still in business to be honest. I’m using mine now to type on and I’ve rebooted 3 times to get it to work, it crashes, freezes, stutters and lags constantly. Can take a couple of minutes to get the browser to open. Don’t know why Chris even mentions them on this site as every onda product should be destroyed before it leaves the factory.

  2. How does a z8500/z8700 perform againts a Nvidia Tegra 4? Would like buy a new Transformer like Tablet since my tf701 is death ?

  3. Now we’re rolling, seems like both Teclast and Chuwi are taking feedback from consumers for their next generation tablets. Obviously a Z8700 would be great however if it keeps the price lower, makes the tablet run cooler with more battery life, a Z8500 minimum should suffice and dual band WiFi minimum is also very needed in these Chinese tablets.

    • Z8500 minimum and dual band wifi, I couldn’t agree more with you!

      • I dont know Tablets went worth since last year.
        I can remember a Sale for the Teclast X98 3G Dual Boot 64GB, Z3736F
It went for 150€ on GearBest.
I Cancel my order after they didn’t sent it out for 4 Weeks (big mistake).
Tablets now don’t have 3G and GPS, they are Bulkier, more Expansiv and the Z8300 isn’t even faster than the Z3736F…
Teclast needs a Ipad like Tablet with Z8550, no DigiGap, USB-C (3.1), Wifi AC and with the rounded Corners of the Past!!!

        • Wow! You lucked out that they didn’t send your tablet. I wish I was that lucky. I got the piece of garbage and now have to dispute it with Paypal because mine does not work.
