The Vbook line from Voyo gets an upgrade to the new Apollo lake Pentium N4200 in the Vbook V3. This is a 13.3″ “Yoga” style notebook with a 360-degree hinge. I’ve looked at this design before and it’s very similar to the Lenovo Yoga 2 style of notebook. You can use it like a thick heavy tablet with the keyboard flipped back in presentation mode, or tent mode.
The 13.3″ version looks the most interesting to me. According to the press images, it comes with a 128GB or 256GB SSD and a empty slot so you can add another 2242 M.2 SSD upto 512GB.
The 11.6″ version called the Voyo Vbook A1 gets the less powerful Celeron N3450 Apollo Lake chip. Both of these have an unusual drive set up. 32GB eMMC for Windows 10 Home install and a M.2 SSD. I would have rather had the OS on the faster SSD drive. Not sure why they have done this.
At least both have Wireless AC, USB 3.0 ports, 4GB of DDR3 RAM and large 12,000mAh batteries. And both have 1920 x 1080 IPS panels with stylus support.
Prices:
$361 for the 13.3″ version & $324 for the 11.6″ version over at GearBest.
I’ve ordered the 13.3″ version to review, mainly because I think the extra for the N4200 and spare SSD slot should be worth it. Thermals should be interesting, hopefully the Apollo Lake runs cooler than the last gen Atom’s do.
Press images:
- Not one, but two M.2 SSD (2242) SSD slots one is free.

Hello Chris,
Thanks for the reviews they are very insightful. “4GB DDR3L RAM for Advanced Multitasking, up to 8GB”. Yeah what caught my eye with this new iteration of the Voyo v3 is the “up to 8gb”. I hope this is true.
Thanks

Hi Chris,
i watch your youtube channel for some time, realy great work!
This notebook caught my attention and i finaly get myself acc to ask a question 😉
I know on one picture i can see RAM description, and there is stated, that notebook uses dual channel configuration:
http://techtablets.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Voyo-Vbook-V3-Apollo-Lake-N4200-9.jpg
But … does it realy? I mean there is one stick of 4GB RAM? Or is it somehow soldered to mainboard in dual channel?
To be honest i am realy confused about RAM configuration in notebooks, tablets and AIOs that use Cherry Trail / new Apolo Lake Atoms.
From my own experience Lenovo, HP, Asus, Acer and “others” use only single channel configuration. No idea why, because it cripples iGPU performance hard.
I just want to be sure, because this notebook looks like it fits my travel needs perfectly.
Cheers
J.B.

My guess is it will be single channel, but i’ll have a look. Normally the RAM is soldered to the motherboard.

Hi Chris. It would be interesting to know if one could actually install an OS on the SSD for the 11.6 version. As in, will I be able to install a Windows 10 Pro version on the SSD? Or any linux distribution for dual-booting.
Chris G
Should be able to, I’ve done it before on others that have had eMMC and SSD’s. I think it’s stupid they make the slow eMMC the boot drive!
Lawrence Patricio
Yeah, I also think so too. If you can install the OS on the SSD, so for advanced users, they can easily make the SSD as the boot drive, right? I hope you can look into that and make a tutorial for the not-so-advanced people like me. I’m really interested with the 11.6 version for computing on-the-go, but would really prefer using the 128GB SSD as the system drive and maybe upgrade to Windows 10 Pro for work sake.
I know you won’t be reviewing the 11.6″ version as you ordered the 13.3″ version, but a little bit of tip from you on that respect would be helpful and informative as well.
BTW, thank you for this site. I’ve been reading a lot of your posts and user comments here for the past 3 months but just recently registered so I can post comments too.

Oh perfect,
i’m exactly now watching for this tablet but i don’t know if its worth to wait for the n4200 than the m3 version?!
At what time you will get these to check for us 🙂
Greetings

I have just ordered the N4200 model, I think i’ll have it next year, after new years.
