Onda M3 – Mini PC with 4GB of RAM and 120GB MSata SSD

Another mini PC, but another one that I find more interesting as it’s not just another Atom Z8300. It’s powered by and older Haswell Celeron G1840. It has a TDP of 54W so a good 10 times that of an Atoms TDP, can clock up to 2.8Ghz and it’s socket 1150. Originally I saw this as a plain barebones mini PC. It would seem now Onda has had to bundle it with a 120GB mSata SSD (With Win...[Read More]

Onda oBook 12 MacBook Air 360 Clone Aliexpress Sale Today

Onda’s new 12″ MacBook Air clone, 360º Yogo hinge notebook is on sale today only on Aliexpress for $369. Thankfully it’s not another X5 Z8300, with 4GB of single channel ram. But an Atom X7 Z8700 (2.4Ghz) 4GB of dual channel Ram and a 64GB eMMC. The same spec as the Microsoft Surface 3. The screen is a 16:10, 1920 x 1200 pixel display and it can also flip right around like a Leno...[Read More]

Onda oBook12 – Atom X7 Z8700, 12.2 Inch Screen With 360° Hinge

Another Aliexpress leak, this one will be on sale for $369 on the 29th according to the listing. I try to stay away from Onda after many disappointments from them. The oBook11 was a flop, USB 3 port issues and high pitch whine noises. But it did have a great build from whoever the ODM was. And this oBook12, this looks interesting. It’s a step up from the oBook11 with a new premium look to it...[Read More]

Four 8″ Cherry Trail Atom X5 Z8300 Tablets Compared

In this video comparison, I compared the Chuwi Vi8 Plus, Cube iwork8 Ultimate, Teclast X80 Plus and Onda v820W CH. These tablets are very similar spec wise they all have the same resolution screen, 1280 x 800. They have the same eMMC size (32GB), 2GB of Ram and Atom X5 Z8300 CPU. But which one is the best? Some key differences & findings: All four tablets more or less perform the same in bench...[Read More]

Onda Obook 11 Unboxing The Yoga Clone and First Impressions

Onda’s Lenovo Yogo 11 clone with its 360-degree hinge piqued my interest enough to get it. Must be made by the same ODM as this design is also sold by Vido as the Vido W11Pro3 and Voyo as the A1 Plus & A1 Plus Ultimate. Those versions even have 4G/LTE, 32-64GB eMMC’s and up to 4GB of RAM. The spec is low on this Onda oBook, an Atom X5 Z8300, 2GB of Ram, 32GB eMMC, 1080p screen and ...[Read More]

Cube iWork8 Ultimate Vs Onda v820w CH Which Cherry Trail 8″ is better?

I compare the two current sub $80 dollar eight inch Atom X5 Z8300 powered tablets currently out. Both are similar with the same specs and screen resolution. But the Cube iwork8 Ultimate screen is 2-3 times brighter. The below video I compare them both. The performance of both is disappointing, the X5 Z8300 on both units reaches 85 degrees. And really not much of a step up over the Bay Trail Z3735F...[Read More]

Onda v820w CH Atom X5 Z8300 Review Online

Possibly one of the poorest tablets I have yet to review, the Onda v820w CH. Its review is now finally online. It took me far too long to finish this review because it was just plain painful to finish. It’s online and the first X5 Z8300 I have reviewed isn’t any faster than an Atom Z3735F! But I think and hope it’s down to Onda’s poor optimization. I clearly see why Onda ne...[Read More]

Onda V919 Air CH Review from IMP3.net

Mike Cane pointed this review out of the Onda V919 Air 3G, it’s the first V919 Air CH review online and normally I wouldn’t read these reviews specially from a Chinese forum. But at least it’s not from the Onda forum. And since I never plan to review this tablet unless Onda sends it to me, it’s worth a look. Interesting to note the Atom X5 Z8300 is running 4GB. But only in ...[Read More]

Onda v820w CH Unboxing & First Impressions

My first Atom X5 Z8300 Cherry Trail tablet arrived, if you didn’t catch the Youtube unboxing and Windows first look video in the TechTablets channel here it is below. It’s the first 8-inch tablet to ship out of China with the X5 Z8300 so I was keen to test the performance of the lower end Atom X5 Z8300 against the X5 Z8500. So far my frist impressions aren’t good: No charger incl...[Read More]

Details on the Onda oBook 11

Details have emerged via an Ali Express listing that the Onda oBook11 is not powered by a Core M, but a Cherry Trail Atom X5 Z8300, 2GB of Ram and a 32GB eMMC drive. It looks like a clone of a Yoga book, with a keyboard that can flip 360 degrees behind the screen turning it into a tablet or it can be used in a presentation mode to support itself upside down like a tent. These photoshopped images s...[Read More]

Onda v919 Air CH 9.7″ Atom X5 Z8500 Cherry Trail Released

Onda held a Weibo V919 Air CH release event today, officially releasing the 9.7″ Retina V919 Air CH model. It’s got the same specs as the Teclast X98 Pro. An Atom X5 X8500 2.24Ghz quad core, 4GB 1600Mhz DDR3L Ram, 64GB eMMC, Micro HDMI. It’s running Windows 10 and no dual boot at this stage. It will be interesting to see how it performs against the Teclast. Onda’s build qua...[Read More]

Onda’s V919 Air CH to Release 14th Plus new 11″ Notebook.

Onda has announced they have a 360 degree Yoga clone laptop coming soon. It’s got an 11″ screen and not much else is know about this model. I assume it will be powered by a Core M 5Y10 and 4GB of ram with 64GB and 128GB SSD options. Much like their Core M tablets so they can share parts. And the V919 Air CH, an Atom X5 Z8500 + 4GB of RAM Retina tablet, Onda’s Teclast X98 Pro comp...[Read More]
