In a Weibo from Chuwi the official Hi10 keyboard dock is now up for pre-order. Chuwi commented that it moves from zero to 120 degrees from closed to open, so similar to the Asus Transformer Book series of keyboards. I’m still waiting for my Hi10 and hopefully, I’ll have it in a week or so. I do have the keyboard ordered to review, so this explains the delay on the keyboard, it’s ...[Read More]
Thanks to KOCTYCb O o for this video below (in Russian, but still very helpful) on how to open up the Chuwi Vi10. He also uploaded some photos of the tablet internals for those interested. Will come in handles for repairs or changing the battery etc. Chuwi Vi10 internals:
Update: I’ve heard from sellers that the newest batch is indeed 64bit Windows 10 Home. Just the first batch had 32bit, which wasn’t meant for export apparently. Forum member Mikaboshi received his Chuwi Hi10 today, I know many of you are itching to see more of this tablet. Mine is still in China and I just got message it’s been delayed again apparently. But lucky for us Mikaboshi...[Read More]
What’s this a new Vi8 with an Cherry Trail Atom? According to Chuwi’s Weibo, December will see the launch of the new Chuwi Vi8 Plus. It looks like the Hi8 Pro, but in black? My guess is essentially it is, but like the Vi8 it will have the lower 1280 x 800 IPS panel and that’s it. I hope not, why not instead of the X5 Z8300 swap it out with a X5 Z8500 + 4GB of dual channel ram kee...[Read More]
Doesn’t seem like the Chuwi Hi10 is off to a good start, first the delays due to apparent heat issues with the Atom X5 X8300. And now issues with the first units that have shipped out, users are reporting touch screen issues, wifi problems and screen flicker since the screen is only running at only 50hz. My Chuwi Hi10 still hasn’t even left Chinese yet due to the heat issue. I certainl...[Read More]
I asked my AliExpress seller why my Chuwi Vi10 Ultimate I ordered for review here still hasn’t shipped out, I go this reply: Hello friend, thank you for your order at first. Actually the factory were ready to send the Vi10 Cherry Trail to us these two days, but when they tested the tablets before sent, they found that the new chip have a problem that is easy to hot, so they have to stop and ...[Read More]
I’ve now had my Chuwi Vi10 Dual Boot for around 7 months. I thought I would post a quick video on how it’s holding up. To be honest, like most people I expected battery wear (Would it hold a full charge?), slowness to creep in and maybe the USB ports, MicroUSB charge port to be falling apart or some other damage. The usual for a cheap Chinese tablet right? Well, it seems many models mi...[Read More]
At the end of their Weibo press event today, Chuwi posted this last image. It would seem they are working on a 4th Cherry Trail model? I would love to see a Core M from Chuwi, but my guess is maybe they are working an 11.6″ 1920 x 1080 tablet to compete with the Teclast X16 Power & X16 Pro models? With either an Atom X5 Z8500 or even a X7 Z8700 SoC, 4GB of Ram and a larger keyboard dock ...[Read More]
From Chuwi’s Weibo press event today, they have confirmed the Hi8 Pro will feature a USB 3 Type-C port. This will be the first Chinese tablet to come with this new connector, as far as I can tell it’s USB 3.0 Type C and not USB 3.1 (The Asus Transformer Book T100HA has USB 3.1 Type C) if anyone understands Chinese can you please confirm it’s 3.0 or 3.1? Points of note: Same desig...[Read More]
Today Chuwi held an online press event on Weibo (Chinese micro-blogging platform) they released full details on the Chuwi Hi10 via several posts. They have confirmed it will have two full sized USB 3.0 ports, 2 x USB 2 ports, one microUSB for charging and data, the other full sized on the keyboard dock. This is good news, the more ports the merrier if you ask me, I personally think all tablets sho...[Read More]
From Chuwi’s Weibo, looks like the will have a release or press event on Weibo for the Hi8 Pro and Hi10 models on the 5th. No doubt it will just be a nuch of promo images and hype. But I hope they do release the full specs on the Hi8 Pro, if it has USB 3 type C or not. Confirmed USB 3 Type-C: http://techtablets.com/2015/11/chuwi-hi8-pro-to-ship-with-usb-3-type-c-port/
